Most Indonesians don't get rejected by the financial system. They never make it far enough to be scored. I've spent 20+ years inside the machines that decide who gets access: telco at XL, messaging at LINE, payments at Grab and Stripe. Different industries, same pattern. The people who need financial tools most are the ones the system can't see. A 22-year-old with a first salary and no file. A mother running a warung on informal income. A 55-year-old who did everything right, in cash. That pattern is why I co-founded Skor Technologies. We build credit infrastructure that helps Indonesians access credit while building a financial reputation through habits and structure, not shortcuts. Here I write about financial wellness and inclusion for the segments that rarely make it into the strategy deck: youth, women, and the 50+. You'll get read-throughs of OJK and BI policy, data on who's actually being served, and the occasional scar from two decades of building in Indonesian tech. Disagreement is welcome in my comments. Working on inclusion at a bank, fintech, regulator, newsroom, or CSO? Follow along, or DM me. This problem needs many hands.
