For more than fourteen years IdeaFest has brought together creators, founders, investors, artists and communities to exchange perspectives, challenge assumptions and imagine what comes next. This year's question is whether innovation and humanity are partners rather than opposites, and how creativity, judgement and connection go on mattering in an age of transformation. One pass, and then the exception The IdeaFest X programme Twenty-eight sittings run by the communities, podcasts and studios behind them: a sound bath, a stand-up class taught over three evenings, four founders on the things that did not work, and a live recording of a political podcast on the closing night. Each has its own hour and its own price, and each has a page here. About IdeaFest IdeaFest is Indonesia's largest festival of ideas, run by PT Benson Media Kreasi and held annually since 2011. It is where the country's creative industries, technology sector and startup community meet each other.

What the four pillars mean Every session across the week maps to one of four pillars, so a delegate can read the programme by what they came for rather than by which stage it is on. Build is the technical track, AI infrastructure, engineering practice, product architecture. Capital is fundraising strategy, investor office hours and closed LP, GP conversations. Market is go-to-market, regional expansion and sector deep-dives. Policy is the regulatory outlook, and the one room where industry and government are both sitting down. The ten anchor events Why an umbrella week matters Indonesia's tech calendar has never had a single week that everybody plans around. Founders raise on one schedule, corporates buy on another, and the regulators who set the terms show up to neither. An umbrella week does not fix that by programming everything itself, it fixes it by putting ten separately curated events on the same island in the same five days, so one flight covers what used to take four. That is the bet Bali Tech Week is making, and it is why the week is worth the trip even for founders with no interest in eight of the ten events. Not sure whether the trip is worth it? We wrote up what the week is and who should go.
