I built my career around open source, working with online communities to create business opportunities and solutions through open technologies. As a technology and business executive I have created companies from scratch and effected change in large organizations to leverage openness and achieve better business outcomes. On the technical side I have experience in software development, project management, infrastructure and developer relations. On the business side I have a strong track record in product planning, marketing, PR, business development and sales. I have worked with startups, large companies, standard bodies, governments, NGOs and open source foundations. I created one of the largest multinational open source services companies, and helped Microsoft change and become more open. I am a board member of the .NET Foundation, I have been a VP of the Apache Software Foundation and a board member of the Outercurve Foundation. I have a strong network and reputation in open source. I believe in execution, communication and empowerment, and I thrive bringing technical expertise to a business context or business insights in a technical team.
